Your Stories: One time, at Church Camp...

Eric and I first met at church camp in 1997-I was 17, his counselor; and he was 12, my camper. I knew his sister, who is my age, so that was what caught my attention at first. Since we were from a fairly small town, we seemed to run into each other throughout the years. We even communicated by writing letters when I was in college and he was in high school. We sent each other graduation cards/gifts, and randomly just kept in touch for the next 7 years.

After I graduated from college, I moved back home to live with my parents, and to take care of my dad, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. That same year, ironically enough, Eric graduated high school, was offered scholarships and opportunities to run cross country and attend college at his 'dream school', but he declined so that he could stay home and safe money and help take care of his dad, who had been recently hurt on his job.

I hadn't seen him in a while, but I knew he worked at the same bank with my friend Kristy. When my dad passed away, he sent a plant, and I had gone to the bank to deliver a thank you note to him through the drive-thru. Funny thing was, I had gone with my friend Amy, who just couldn't wait for me to see her 'favorite teller', whom she thought was cute but was probably way too young for us. Well, I bet you can't guess who that teller was!!

Shortly after that, in the summer of 2005, I started hanging out with Eric, and my friend Kristy. Eric asked me to go back to that same church camp where we met, to be a sponsor for a large group he was taking that summer. It was there that our relationship truly started blossoming. Though it wasn't romantic at first, I began to see things in him that I admired and that I wanted in a husband. Not long after that, we started dating.

I knew that he was 'the one' for me sometime that fall, but the Lord didn't reveal it to him until earlier that next spring. We dated for about 6 months before getting engaged-though I wasn't quite sure if he liked me or not-ha!! But I knew how much I liked him. I went to Germany in July 2006, and missed him terribly while I was gone. I knew that I didn't want to go another day without him when I returned. Little did I know that he was proposing to me when he picked me up from that trip at the airport! We were engaged on July 16,2006 and got married that following year on February 17,2007.

We have been married for almost 4 years now, and they have truly been the bessed and most blessed years of my life. I wouldn't trade them for anything. I am so thankful for such an awesome, Godly husband-I am truly blessed! I love him more than words can say. I spend each day of my life thanking God for all He has given me, and trying not to take for granted all the blessings He has given me. The Lord's timing and His plans and provisions are truly amazing!
