282. Model Magic

"OK, NOW JUST LOOK AT EACH OTHER AND SMILE!" Chaz yelled from ten yards away. The plane's engine roared behind us, overpowering Chaz's directions.

"WHAT?" Cayden and I both yelled back.

"LOOK INTO EACH OTHER'S EYES AND SMILE!"

I read his lips and then yelled into Cayden's ear what I'd interpreted.

He turned to me and smiled. I smiled back and then a gust of wind whipped my freshly curled hair across my face, gluing my hair to my fresh coat of lip gloss. A beam of light from the silver reflector Joyce was positioning to our left blinded me for a full ten seconds. I could feel the sun burning through my eyelids. It was official: I was the worst model ever.

"DOES THIS SMILE LOOK REAL?" Cayden yelled without moving his lips. I spit my hair out of my mouth and shielded my eyes from the sun. He laughed at my struggle and a real smile spread across his face.

"FREEZE! STAY LIKE THAT!" I yelled and then dropped my hand away from my face and broke into a smile so Chaz could get the shot.

We were at Addison airport and Rae's dad had pulled a Gulfstream G450 out onto the tarmac for our engagement photo shoot. It was a beautiful jet, and it was an even more beautiful day. Unfortunately, sunshine and wind don't make for the most beautiful photos. I was convinced my eyes were shut in half of my photos and my windblown hair was blocking my face in the other half. But Chaz knew what he was doing. He made magic happen.

"How amazing is this?" Cayden said loudly into my ear between poses. He gestured behind us to the plane, the runway, the big, blue sky. "I mean, who takes engagement photos on a private jet?"

I laughed and shook my head, taking it all in. "Would you have ever thought that one kick at the bar would lead to this?"

This time it was his turn to shake his head and laugh. "Not in the slightest."

I was in awe.

I guess it's easier to explain it if I just show you the pictures, right? OK, OK. You know I'm just dying to show you anyway! I haven't gotten all of the photos back from Chaz yet, but here's a sneak peek for you. The last three photos were taken at a beautiful gazebo/pond area I drive past every day on my way to yoga. It always caught my eye.
